Deserie is a busy working mother of a toddler. She majored in Applied Psychology and hopes to make a switch from being a case manager to pursuing law school and eventually becoming a criminal defense lawyer and judge.

This overachiever chose to attend Mount Saint Mary’s University, Weekend/Evening & Online College and shared this about her experience:

2) The Professional Looking to Make a Career Shift

Kenny Simkins

Kenny was a bank manager who wanted to make a shift into a different career. But first, he needed to get his degree. He enrolled in our Applied Psychology program which allowed him to have a full-time job and be a full-time student on weekends. Today, Kenny is an MSMU graduate student, pursuing his Master of Science in General Counseling Psychology. He is a part-time counselor at Los Angeles Community College, as well as a Career Services Assistant at MSMU.

He had this to say about his experience:

‘“My professors are my mentors and the school offers tutoring resources for help with writing, statistics, research methods, and math-and its services are included in the fees you pay!”

3) This Student Was Ready To Finish What She Started

Catherine is an alumna of Weekend/Evening & Online College. She is a Development Associate at St. Mary’s Academy. She finished her degree in Social Work with the goal of advancing in her current field and making a difference in people’s lives. Catherine thrived with the support of her academic advisor and support system who helped her stay on track.

She had this to say about participating in the program.
